Scripting for Ac130 destruction
Overview:
Death from Above was an opportunity in the Modern Warfare Remastered project to go bigger and louder on VFX/SFX than its predecessor. I researched the original title, and observed a general lack of opportunities to destroy the environment using the AC130. I proposed and pitched the idea of adding more destructivity to the mission, which got greenlight by my Design Lead. Resources were limited and I had to scrounge Art support by convincing the VFX Lead, which they did after hearing the pitch.
Design & Production Content:
- Update the complexity and quantity of VFX content for Environment and Weapon FX
- Increased visibility of tangible impact by player action within level through use of destructible buildings, trees and structures.
- New destruction methodology to be implemented using script_model animations rather than brush_model physics projectiles
- Efficient and reproducible content for multiple buildings and special structures, water towers, crane, etc...

- Successfully pitched and got greenlit the passion project of adding more destruction to the AC130 mission
- Scripted and setup all the buildings and assets to include new destruction physics and behavior
- Successfully pitched and received additional VFX aid in remastering new weapon and explosion VFX
- Coordinated with the Audio Design team as Audio Scripter to add in remastered weapon and explosion SFX
